The refractometer works on the principle of refraction. It measures the extent of sunshine refraction of clear substances in either a liquid or solid state. This is often then utilized in order to spot a liquid sample, analyze the sample’s purity and confirm the quantity or concentration of dissolved substances at intervals the sample. As light-weight passes through the liquid from the air, it’ll block and build a bending illusion, the severity of the bend can rely upon the quantity of substance dissolved within the liquid. For instance, the quantity of sugar in a very glass of water.
Parts of Brix Meter
- Daylight Plate
- Main Prism Assembly
- Calibration Screw
- Rubber Grip
- Focus Adjustment
- Eyepiece
Daylight Plate
Daylight Plate is used to scatter the solid or liquid which we put on the display of the Brix Meter.
Main Prism Assembly
The Main Prism Assembly works on the principle of refraction. When a light strikes on the display of the Main Prism Assembly, then we can find the salinity of a particular solid or liquid substance.
Calibration Screw
The function of Calibration Screw is just that if there is an error while getting reading of a particular substance, then we can loosen or tighten the calibrated screw so that we can get an error free reading of a particular substance.
Rubber Grip
The function of Rubber Grip is to provide grip to our hands. When we lift the refractometer and check the readings of a particular substance(like solid or liquid), the rubber grip of the refractometer helps to make a grip on the refractometer.
Focus Adjustment
The function of Focus Adjustment is to just get the accurate reading of a particular thing present on the daylight plate.
Eyepiece
The function of Eyepiece is to give us the readings of a particular substance(like solid or liquid). You just need to see it through the eyepiece of the refractometer and then you will get the readings of the particular substances.
